Research into CD Digipaks and covers

The two top images are of Limp Bizkit debut album 'Three Dollar Bill, Yall$'. The guitarist of the band created both covers himself. It is a consistent grafiti/artistic and comical style of art. CD cover art doesn't always have to be in the same style throughout, but it gives it a distinctive image. The bottom two images are examples of digipaks. The same colours are used throughout. I will try to do the same and keep a consistent style on my digipak.

Research into existing Advertisements

These advertisements have consistent house styles. The Florence + the Machine ad features black and white shades all around the main image f the album cover. The fonts except for the main title are all the same. The Green Day ad has a distinctive style, using the blocky - urban style font, brick background with grafiti, and the main image in the forground in cartoon style. This ha strong anchorage, and conveys an urban rock style. Furthermore, the colours are of fire, which also could mean this album is hot. The Oasis ad has a similar style, with the urban background and casual clothes of the bandmembers. The image is in centre frame with the simple style writing above and below it, like the Florence ad. This is the style I will be using with my advertisement. The casual clothing, grafiti and urban locations are conventional of rock music, especially Oasis, which are a northern rock and roll band, that was also dubbed 'working class heroes'.
